I have recently bought a KTM Adv 52cm road bikes isn't predrilled for rim locks. I get away with psi in the rear at times and only get a little bit of slip over time [per tyre] with one rimlock. X Heavy duty tube. Never had a drama. Your pressures are the reason. I'd say running pressures that high is fairly rare. Most racers will vary their pressures and will aim to go as low as rim locks dirt bike conditions allow.
